North Pascack Rd is being turned into an extension of the Pascack Ridge project. On the Zoning Board of Appeals this Thursday. Two family dwellings are being proposed on 149, 151, 159, and 161 North Pascack Rd. All are asking for several variances from the zoning law governing these properties. And, if the usual building takes place, the basements will be above ground which will eventually be occupied by multiple families.

Traffic on Pascack Rd is a disaster now, with the addition of the 224+ units proposed for Pascack Ridge, and these possibly 16+ units on North Pascack Rd, traffic will come to a halt. Everyone in this area should come out and express their views on these projects.
The hearing will be held via zoom and in person starting at 7:15 pm
In-person location: Ramapo Town Hall, 237 Route 59, Suffern, New York.

The same playbook and it never fails. Here's an idea for trying something new. Tell the power brokers that we know everything is already a done deal, and these hearings are just a sham formality. Given that road capacity is already an issue, demand infrastructure improvements like what's going into cities- sidewalks, bike lanes, bus lanes, and local buses. The result is likely to be laughter. But then you can point them out to regulatory bodies at higher levels of government, to show the progressive assumptions of best practices don't hold here, and that something else is needed.

And nobody will address the impact on ERCSD. It will sail through without a second thought.
