BENEFIT SCREENING
A special one-night-only screening of the NY Times Critics' Picks documentary Studio 54 to benefit the legal environmental advocacy fund: LEAF of Hudson Valley (501c3). ONLY $15 per ticket for film and post film panel of filmmakers, doorman, and designers.
In the late 70’s Susan Hillary Shapiro and Glenn Albin - both NYU film students - gained exclusive access to film inside Studio 54. Now, 40 years later, this never-before-seen archival footage is woven throughout the documentary Studio 54 directed by Matt Tyrnauer (Roy Cohen, and Valentino: The Last Emperor).
Studio 54 presents a vivid, glorious portrait of a disco-era phenomenon, and tells the story of two friends who stuck together through thick and thin.
Susan, a Rockland County native, founded LEAF to support legal advocacy to protect natural resources, curb overdevelopment in Rockland County, encourage renewable energy and fight abuses of the nuclear power industry, including stopping the $7.6 billion dollar nuclear subsidy, the largest dirty subsidy in New York State history.
Elliott Forrest, national radio host and Peabody Award-winning journalist, will conduct a Q&A with Studio 54 archival filmmakers and designers after the screening.
Tickets sold for this screening will fund environmental advocacy and justice work by LEAF for Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, ROSA 4 Rockland, CUPON Inc., IPSEC, and NIRS.... See MoreSee Less
